"Through a carefully planned set of courses, the MS·PTC program not only offers a scholarly understanding of communication strategies but it also sharpens the skill set required by the technical professional in the rapidly changing global marketplace." - Kathryn L. King, MS·PTC Class of 1996

"Today more than ever, technical communicators are crucial employees in companies. We are the glue that ties the organization together with communicators working in areas such as internal communication, content management, technical publications, user interface design/usability, marketing communication, research and innovation design, technology transfer/knowledge management, collaboration, process improvement, business analysis, visual design, and proposal writing. The possibilities are endless for technical communicators today and the MSPTC program is a valuable tool for communicators to advance their careers in this field full of opportunities." - Lisa Hauser

“I have focused my graduate studies on three of my passions—communication, technology and psychology.  I am applying these passions in an effort to assist others with mental and emotional challenges such as Adult ADHD to fulfill their goals and live their dreams just as others have supported me during my struggles.  My graduate studies have empowered me to become an expert in assisting others with using online technology-based resources such as web sites, e-mail, bulletin boards, chat rooms and instant messaging to acquire support and information about mental health issues and treatments.”

Grace Moylan, MS·PTC Class of 2007
Winner of the 2007 Eli Lilly Focus on Your Possibilities Scholarship

"Immediately after obtaining the MS, I was hired as a technical writer at an e-commerce company. I had no experience in the field whatsoever other than the preparation obtained from the MSPTC program; regardless of that, I was hired with full benefits and a starting salary in the mid-60's. When I left the organization, I began teaching classes online as an adjunct instructor; I teach workplace and business communication courses along with Hypertext Design, Technical Writing, Web Design and introductory information technology courses. I truly believe that the MSPTC program made all of this possible; I absolutely love teaching." -Cynthia Pengilly

"During my time at NJIT, I found the faculty to be committed to the MS-PTC program and to the students' success. My "real world" experiences were met, as the faculty continued to introduce the latest elements into the program, helping me remain marketable by providing me with the opportunity to learn a variety of new professional and technical communication topics each semester. Students should join professional organizations, such as Society for Technical Communication, which provide more opportunities to learn the latest in technical communication topics and network with professionals in the field." -Susan Lee
